The last game of the year saw us struggle to field a team but still we managed to field a reasonable side and we got off to the worst possible start conceeding within the first five minutes. With the defence stood still expecting an offside decision their player slipped in and fired home putting us 1-0 down, this got a response and we started to play a little and create a few chances but we just couldn't find the killer touch until Manager Martyn James was fed the ball around half way and he pushed on and hit a rasping shot from 35 yards into the top corner of the net giving the keeper no chance. A few more chances came for either side but it remained 1-1 at the break.
We started the second half brightly but a rash challenge from Adrian Small saw their ref give a penalty and that was converted to see us go 2-1 down, with us pushing forward in search of an equaliser they broke away and got their 3rd putting us 3-1 down.
We got a good shout for a penalty to get us back in the game but the home team somehow got away with it. By now we were throwing everything at them and again they hit us on the break and made it 4-1 which in the end was the final score.
A poor result but overall a good year so a repeat year next year will see us continue to do well and push on to were we want to be.
May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry christmas and a happy new year!
